The H100 Group, a Norwegian healthcare company, announced the purchase of 5 million Norwegian kroner (approximately $470,000 USD) in Bitcoin this Thursday (22nd). Given that its shares are traded on the NGM Nordic SME, it was the first public company in Sweden to accomplish this feat.
H100’s shares doubled in price this morning. Later, the shares underwent a 40% correction before rising again.
The entry of H100 reinforces the idea that the demand for Bitcoin is global.
H100 Group reveals first Bitcoin purchase and shares soar
Although the purchase of Bitcoin by the H100 Group is modest compared to other companies, at only 4.39 bitcoins, its pioneering spirit goes down in history.
Sander Andersen, CEO of the H100 Group, highlighted the Bitcoin community, stating that their interests are aligned and may attract buyers.
“This addition to H100’s Bitcoin Treasury Strategy accompanies a growing number of technology-focused growth companies that hold Bitcoin on their balance sheets, driven by the view that it is in the company’s interest to have a more diversified treasury portfolio than just cash,” Andersen said.
“I believe that the values of individual sovereignty, strongly present in the Bitcoin community, are aligned and will attract the customers and communities for whom we are building the H100 platform.”
Coinsilium announces ‘Bitcoin strategy’ in the UK
Coinsilium, from Gibraltar, but listed on the AQSE Growth Market in London, announced on Tuesday (20) that it will be adopting a similar strategy to offer exposure to Bitcoin for British investors.
“Coinsilium Group Limited is pleased to present an update on its Bitcoin treasury strategy and its wholly owned subsidiary in Gibraltar, Forza!, created to implement Coinsilium’s treasury operations with an exclusive focus on Bitcoin.”
Citing its plans, Coinsilium points out that Forza! will have an initial reserve of 15 bitcoins (approximately $850,000 USD).
Both the H100 Group and Coinsilium already appear on dedicated lists to cover public companies that hold bitcoins in their treasuries. The trend is that this number will increase.
